Ontario DISTRICT POLICE NEWSLETTER ********************* WASAGA BEACH —Members of the Huronia West Squad of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are this moment of investigation of a fatal car accident with two vehicles on the beach of Wasaga town. Shortly before midnight on Saturday, April 9, 2022, members of the Huronia West OPP encountered a serious collision of two vehicles on Mosley Street at Wasaga Beach. Both drivers were taken to Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. The result of the collision was the death of a driver. Their name is hidden in anticipation of the family notice. Mosley Street between 28th St and 30th St was closed for several hours, while members of the Central Region Traffic Reconstruction attended and assisted with the investigation. Since then the road has reopened. Police are appealing to witnesses who may have witnessed the crash or possessing video footage from the camera to assist in the investigation. During the road closure, police launched a separate investigation into a car crossing the roadblocks. At around 4 in the morning, while the police were still at the scene, a vehicle that did not obey the roadblocks was observed and entered the scene of the collision. After talking to the driver, police launched an investigation into driving under the influence of alcohol. As a result, Mackenzie Kary, 25, from Wasaga Beach, was charged with:

The driver was given a suspension of his driving license for 90 days as well as confiscation of his vehicle for 7 days. He will appear before the Ontario Court in Collingwood on May 10, 2022.
Shortly afterwards, police remained busy responding to a solitary vehicle accident around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Sunnidale Road and Ferndale Drive within Springwater Township. As soon as he reached the spot, the police spoke to the driver and started an investigation for driving under the influence of alcohol. As a result, Riley Waters, 27, of Angus, was charged with:
