UPDATE: 4 p.m. According to a BC RCMP spokesperson, one man has been arrested under the Mental Health Act following this morning’s incident in Lumby. RCMP say the incident happened at Trinity Valley Road north between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Police say the man was apprehended and taken to hospital. The Vernon North Okanagan detachment is expected to provide more details shortly. ORIGIANL: 11:45 a.m. A police incident appears to be underway somewhere north of Lumby Sunday morning. Castanet has received multiple unconfirmed reports that a number of RCMP Emergency Response Team vehicles raced towards Bobbie Burns Road off Trinity Valley Road north of Lumby Sunday morning. Police have reportedly laid out a spike belt in the area, and police have also closed Trinity Valley Road at the Enderby end of the road as well. It’s not clear what has prompted the response at this time. Castanet will update this story as more information becomes available.
