The incident occurred when the police officer approached to investigate the man, who was acting suspiciously. During the search, the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the police officer. Police said the officer managed to pull out his gun and shot and killed the perpetrator. Rescue service Magen David Adom transported the policeman to the nearby Barzilai hospital. The officer later said he met the man during a search for Palestinians in Israel illegally. “When I bent down to check his lower body and felt a blow. “He stabbed me in the head and I fell to the ground.” He said the man continued to try to stab him before he could pull out his gun and shoot him. Police said the perpetrator was a resident of Hebron in the West Bank, around forty, who was illegally in Israel.
