THE AMBULANCE – Movies can be a great place to get away from reality for an hour or two. You get your popcorn, frozen Jr. Mint. and the giant soda and you sit comfortably in a dark theater ready to get lost in the story on screen. Say whatever you want about the Michael Bay movies, but if you want to shut your mind for a moment and watch some things explode, you could do worse than a Bay movie. His latest offer is “Ambulance” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Eiza Gonzalez. The film follows two bank robbers as they steal an ambulance after a job goes wrong. The problem is that an EMT and an injured police officer are in the vehicle. I’m not here to tell you whether or not you should watch “Ambulance”, I’m here to let you know how it got the R rating, so you can decide for yourself if it’s the kind of movie you’re looking at. I try not to go into too much detail to avoid possible spoilers for those hoping to see the film.

Sex

Sex, implication and nudity are not areas where “Ambulance” got an R rating. There is virtually nothing sexual in the movie, except for a married couple kissing once or twice and some harmless, flirting jokes. Most of the skin we get is a men’s shirt half open and a woman in a vest. If your hesitation is here, I have to say that “Ambulance” is less sexual than some PG movies out there.

Language

“Ambulance” definitely earned its rating with language. There are a lot of curses sprinkled all over the movie, but the movie’s favorite is the word F. It has been said almost 80 times, and some come back to back. I think almost every character in the movie has a chance to say the word. In addition, there are several racial slanders in the film. The “ambulance” was not restrained in the language department.

Violence / destruction

There is a lot of violence in the Ambulance, including a shooting that lasts several minutes with many people being shot and hit by cars. But this is not the only scene. there is violence, destruction and destruction throughout the film. Much of the violence can be quite graphic, including the aftermath of someone falling under a large truck and a brutal ambulance operation. There is a lot of blood and dozens of people are being killed by violent gunfire, car chaos and explosions. The graphic nature of violence is not present in every scene, but when it is there it is very picturesque.

The subject matter

The movie has a restless tone and some of our main characters are not great people. The hostage situation could be worrying for some audience. Also, the aforementioned surgery can be very annoying for many people. The graphic nature and script will be too much for some.

conclusion

“Ambulance” looks a bit more real and graphic than some of Bay’s other R-rated action movies, such as “The Rock” and “Bad Boys.” These were violent and had a lot of dirty work, but “Ambulance” feels a little more real at times and the evil is reinforced by these films. The film definitely earned an R rating. The “ambulance” is rated R for intense violence, bloody images and language. ×
