During raids on Highway 33 and Big White Road on April 2, police issued five 90-day roadblocks to drivers who failed a blood-alcohol test on the road. Three other drivers were given warnings and one person underwent a drug disability test but was not given a ticket. The RCMP also distributed one ticket for speeding, 10 for speeding, two for seat belt violations, one for using an electronic device while driving and one ticket for Cannabis Act. “Enforcement work like this proves our commitment to road safety,” says Sgt. Bryce Petersen of BCHP Kelowna. “Working with our partners, we prevent crime and make our highways safer together.”
