Placentia RCMP is investigating the recent theft of about $ 9,000 worth of diesel fuel from an industrial crane parked near a pier in an Argentine port. Diesel fuel prices have soared in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Police say the theft happened sometime between November 2021 and March 25, 2022, while the crane was out of order waiting for spare parts. About 4,000 liters of diesel were removed from the crane.
