It happened at Royal York Station on Bloor Street West and Royal York Road around 1:30 p.m. on April 5th.
Police say the victim was at the station when she was approached by a man who held her in his arms. Authorities allege that the man then started escorting the girl in his direction, despite asking him to let her go.
They say that then a citizen who saw the interaction intervened, finally removing the girl from the man, who left the area before the police arrived.
The news of the arrest for the case comes just two days after the police published footage from a surveillance camera of a suspect in the case.
Leszek Kaptur, 73, from Toronto, is charged with one count of kidnapping.
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 15.
