Merseyside police were called in to report a home-related incident on a property on Greenbank Drive in Fazakerley around 7.40am. this morning (Sunday, April 10). A police officer was attacked by a man outside the property, resulting in a facial injury and a broken arm. A 44-year-old man from Kirkby was arrested shortly after the incident. He was arrested on suspicion of assault, possession of an offensive weapon and offenses related to domestic violence. The injured police officer was taken to hospital for treatment after the incident. Police officers remained in the area this morning while CCTV, witnesses and forensic examinations were carried out.
