The road was cut off in both directions on Dickenson Street for about two hours on Saturday afternoon (April 9) over what Transport for Greater Manchester described as a “police incident”. Pictures from the scene show a black BMW that has been severely damaged being towed away from the spot. Several police cars and police officers appear to be standing on the street and redirecting traffic. In a tweet, TfGM said: “A6 Stockport Road, Longsight. The road is currently closed in both directions on Dickenson Street. This is due to a police incident, look for an alternative route.
