In a statement released late Wednesday, Vallée’s sons, Alex and ilemile Vallée, said people were still contacting the director’s father’s influence. “Testimonies of friendship, appreciation and respect for our father and his work continue to come from around the world,” they said. “We are sincerely grateful and hope that his creativity will continue to serve as inspiration and guidance to the people in this industry for which he was so passionate.” The statement said the sons and their mother would soon announce details of a memorial service to honor Vallée’s life and art.
