Manchester United “close” to the agreement for the ten Hague as new coach
Manchester United interim coach Ralph Rangnick has brought in teenager Alejandro Garnazzo in first team training ahead of his weekend trip to Everton.
The 17-year-old has not yet entered the field for the first team of the Red Devils, but now he can claim that he has trained with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Ronaldo returned from illness as United prepared for action at the weekend, while Messi was with Garnazzo in the Argentine team during the last international break.
The Madrid-born youngster has already been the subject of international tug-of-war, playing for Spain’s Under-18 team before falling in love with Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni. And the international bosses are not the only ones who recognize his quality, with Rangnik giving the midfielder the opportunity to impress along with the senior United players.

Since taking over Ole Gunnar Solskj .r, Rangnik has given many opportunities to academy talent. Hannibal also coached the first team before the Everton match, while others have won minutes in the league and in Europe.
Anthony Elanga was the biggest success, making his debut under Solskjaer, but climbing under Rangnick. He has three goals to his name this season, including an away win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, and made his World Cup qualifier debut in Sweden.
While Garnazzo has not yet played for United’s senior team, he has won minutes for their age groups. He has two goals from 10 Premier League appearances and also appeared as a side in the Papa John’s Trophy when he replaced Zidane Iqbal, another youngster who managed to beat Rangnick.

The rise for Garnazzo comes in a period of change at the top for United. Rangnick’s interim tenure was always due to end after the 2021-22 season, but the club are believed to be on the verge of confirming Erik ten Hag as their next permanent manager following “advanced talks” with the Dutchman.
Rangnik, who joined shortly before the turn of the year after a spell with Lokomotiv Moscow, has long been planning to move to a consultant role for the next two seasons. However, new details about the responsibilities have emerged since then and former RB coach Leipzig could end up working just six days a month.
The promotion of players like Garnazzo can be seen as an attempt to breathe new life into the United season with their hopes for the top four in football weakening rapidly. With eight games left, they are in seventh place – three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, but with the London team holding one game in hand and preparing to host the Rangnik men at the Emirates Stadium on 23 April.
