“We are thrilled when our longtime friends at Remedy approached us to remake the original Max Payne games,” Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser told a news release. “We are huge fans of the work that the Remedy team has created over the years and we look forward to playing these new releases.” New project Max Payne 1 & 2 The game, which the press release mentions somewhat awkwardly as the New Max Payne 1 & 2 Project, is “currently in the development stage of the idea”. An estimated traffic schedule was not provided. The remake budget will be “funded by Rockstar Games, the size of which will be commensurate with a typical Remedy AAA game production,” the press release said. Max Payne remakes follow last year’s Alan Wake Remastered, an updated version of the cult classic. Remedy is also working on Alan Wake 2, although it is not expected to be released until 2023.
