A police spokesman said in a statement: “The driver of a Vauxhall Astra involved in the collision, a man in his 30s, was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. “His family is supported by specially trained officers. “The co-driver in the Vauxhall Astra, a woman about 30 years old, was transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries and remains in critical condition. “The passenger in the back seat, a 10-year-old boy, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries and is now in stable condition. “It is alleged that a red Mini, a white Mercedes and a black Kia were involved in the collision, along with the HGV. None of the occupants of these vehicles were seriously injured in the collision. “Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have a dashboard video of the collision or cars before, call 101 citing incident number 407 of April 3, 2022.
