Russia fired Kalibr cruise missiles Sunday at four S-300 launchers hidden in a hangar on the outskirts of the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, the Defense Ministry said. Russia says 25 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in the attack. “High-precision caliber missiles fired from the sea destroyed the equipment of an S-300 anti-aircraft missile division that had been delivered to the Kiev regime from a European country,” the ministry said. Russia has not said which European country supplied the S-300 systems. Slovakia, a NATO member that had donated such a missile system to Ukraine, said what it provided had not been hit. “Our S-300s were not destroyed,” said Lubica Janikova, a spokeswoman for the Slovak government. Russian forces also shot down two Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft near the city of Izium and destroyed two ammunition depots, one of which was near the southern city of Mykolaiv, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The Ukrainian army did not immediately respond to a request for comment. (Report by Reuters, Additional Report by Robert Muller in Prague, Edited by Guy Faulconbridge and Nick Macfie)
