A second bus from Texas arrived near the US Capitol in Washington, just before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, carrying over twelve illegal immigrants as part of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s new plan to tackle federal immigration policies during an ongoing border crisis. Abbott announced last week that he was heading the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) to transport migrants released from federal detention in Texas to the state capital and other locations outside his state. TEXAS FIRST BUS SUCCESSFUL US IMMIGRANT BLOCK FROM US CAPITAL TO WASHINGTON, DC Fourteen migrants got off the bus one block from Union Station on First Street. (Fox News) A man who identified himself as Juan from Colombia told Fox News that he flew to Mexico and crossed the Rio Grande in the United States. Juan and his friend said they would go to New York to meet their friends. Juan said he wanted to become a barber. Capitol police arrived around 4:45 p.m. to ask questions. Members of a Catholic charity arrived, waiting for the migrants, who started walking towards Union Station around 4:47 a.m. The arrival on Thursday follows that of the first bus, which arrived in the country’s capital on Wednesday morning. This bus also carried migrants from Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba and Colombia. Fox News has learned that they came from the Del Rio area of Texas. IMMIGRANTS TAKE SELFS AT THE BORDER AFTER PASSING US According to TDEM, Abbott’s plan is already working. The agency told Fox News on Monday that many of the communities that initially sought support – from the Rio Grande Valley to Terrell County – say the federal government stopped dropping migrants into their cities after Abbott announced April 6. The agency added that each bus has the capacity and supplies needed to carry up to 40 immigrants who are released into Texas communities and transported to Washington, DC. The governor’s legal authority to transport immigrant buses to the US Capitol remains in question. In 2012 Supreme Court The Arizona v.
