There is a dispersal order in Southend covering the Eastern and Western Esplanade, Marine Parade and the High Street. The order will be executed from 4.30pm today until 2am on Wednesday. It comes in response to incidents of anti-social behavior and concerns raised by traders along the beach. Order – Also covers the high street and city center Deputy Inspector Dave Gardiner of Southend Community Policing Team said: “We started to see groups of men arriving at the train station and along the beach in the middle of the afternoon and received multiple calls from business owners expressing concern. “We will take strong action against anyone who engages in anti-social behavior or acts of violence. “There will be a significant police presence across the city and we will be working with the council’s CCTV operators and our colleagues at British Transport Police to track down the rioters and prevent them from spoiling the evening for the law-abiding majority.”
