A woman in St. Anthony says she is glad she did not know how close a polar bear was to making an unwanted visit to her home until the bear was long gone.
Danny Keats captured the close meeting of Bobby Stevens’s neighbor in a video surveillance and Kenneth’s son shares it on social media.
Bobby says she was on the couch when her dog alerted her to something happening outside the door.
He went to the door thinking that someone was there, and when he opened the door to look outside, he looked at the face of a polar bear, “and the polar bear was beautiful” he laughs. Fortunately, it was not long before he took the stage, closed the door and called 911.
Bobbie says she only got scared when she saw the watch video showing the bear climbing on her roof.
The bear climbed and climbed onto its roof, which he says is worrying because the roof is old and not sure how it held the animal’s weight. She joked with her granddaughter who said, “If Tommy hadn’t put another nail in, then the bear would probably have come down.”
