The S&P 500 fell about 1.4% in Wednesday afternoon trading, slightly below the point before the release of the Fed minutes at 2 p.m. ET. The stock index fell 1.3% on Tuesday after Fed Governor Lael Brainard said the central bank had made a strong commitment to curb inflation.
