The apartment building, located in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, was only recently built. As the new residents began to move in, he noticed a “strong stench” coming from the walls of the master bedroom closet. The resident, who moved into the apartment in May, said that as the weather warmed, the smell grew stronger. On May 29, the resident requested an inspection. On July 2, an employee of the construction company inspected various parts of the house, including the plumbing, floors, walls and ceiling. Upon investigation, three plastic bags filled with human feces were found hidden inside a space in the ceiling of the master bedroom closet. “As soon as the construction company employees removed the ceiling light, a strong smell began to fill the room from this hole. They couldn’t even film or photograph the evidence [due to the stench] and left with the bags as soon as possible,” the resident told Yonhap News.
