The shooting was reported on Clifton Hill near the Great Canadian Midway around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Niagara Falls police said. Niagara Police Sgt. Steve Magistrale said all three people shot were boys under the age of 18, one of whom was killed. #NEW Researchers with @NiagRegPolice tell me that all 3 people who were shot inside the Great Canadian Midway overnight were teenagers under the age of 18. 1 was shot dead. All 3 are outside the Niagara Falls. “This level of violence is unacceptable” @globalnewsto – Catherine McDonald (@cmcdonaldglobal) April 8, 2022 The story goes on under the ad The other two victims were taken to a local hospital by paramedics and have since been taken to out-of-town hospitals, Magistrale said. One of the victims is now said to be in critical condition, while the other is stable. In a press release, Niagara police said a blue 4-door pick-up Ford F-150 Super Crew was spotted leaving the area. “It had dark tinted windows, a triptych tonneau cover and a full floor. “The vehicle is visibly damaged and the door handle and the front license plate are missing,” police said. Magistrale said that at the moment the nature of their involvement in the vehicle is not clear, but said that the police would like to identify and talk to the passengers. “Therefore, anyone in the community who has information that can help us in one of the two, in identifying the vehicle or occupants, is very encouraged to contact the Niagara Regional Police,” he said.

Magistrale said police are also working to interview those at the scene at the time of the shooting. The story goes on under the ad He said police were also working with the victims’ families. Their identities have not yet been released. Magistrale said officers believe the shooting took place in the middle of the street. “But exactly where it’s in the middle and the kind of interaction that led to this escalation of violence – that’s where we’re still trying to find out,” he said. The Niagara Police homicide unit is now investigating and officers remain at the scene. Magistrale said that this kind of violence “really shakes the community”, but said that there was no evidence that there was a “constant threat of violence”. “But to really say at this point who was targeted or not – it really is, we are really in the middle of this research – but that really is one of the most important questions we will try to answer is why this happened,” he said. Roads in the area are expected to be closed for several hours. Meanwhile, Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diondati said on Twitter that he “regretted learning about the tragic incident.” I was sadly informed of the tragic incident that took place in our city last night. We are comforted to know that @NiagRegPolice is investigating us and our hearts are with everyone involved, especially the victims and their families today. – Jim Diodati (jimdiodati) April 8, 2022 The story goes on under the ad “We are comforted to know that @NiagRegPolice is investigating us and our hearts are with everyone involved, especially the victims and their families today,” he said.
