While police said Friday afternoon they were not yet able to provide details, an Alberta Health Services spokesman confirmed that a teenager had been taken to hospital by McNally High School “in critical, life-threatening condition”. The school is located in the Forest Heights community. Jaydaan Bayne is a former student at the school that lives inside it. He said many emergency responders arrived shortly afterwards. The story goes on under the ad “They took out a stretcher and took the child,” Bayne recalls. “He was given chest compressions directly in the ambulance.” He said the ambulance was escorted by police as it left the scene.
