A suspect was charged and charged Saturday with the fatal shooting of a teenage girl returning home from school and struck with a stray bullet during a street brawl in New York. New York Police Department officials have announced the arrest of 17-year-old Jeremiah Ryan on charges of murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a firearm in Friday’s shooting that killed 16-year-old Angellyh Yambo. Ryan’s parents were in court as he was ordered to be held without bail until at least his next court appearance Monday, the New York Post reported. Another 16-year-old girl was hit in the leg and a 17-year-old boy was injured in the buttocks. Both are expected to survive. (NYPD via AP) Shots in New York OUT OF BRONX SCHOOL KILL A TEENAGE AND INJURE TWO OTHERS Deputy Chief of Police Timothy McCormack expressed disappointment with the circumstances of the case. “We have two families that have been completely destroyed right now – our victim’s family and our sniper family,” McCormack said. He described the suspect’s mother as “a hard-working woman” whose child had “zero contact with police” before his arrest. Police said the shootings appeared to have started after Ryan and another man gestured to each other at an intersection. The teenagers who were hit were walking on the sidewalk heading home from the school, police said.
