United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has come under fire for his “pessimistic” behavior at Goodison Park. Ronaldo made headlines on Saturday after United’s 1-0 defeat to Everton, when he allegedly slapped a mobile phone from the hand of a teenage Toffees fan while he fell limping in the tunnel. Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan criticized the attitude of the five-time Golden Ball winner and insisted he should buy a new phone for 14-year-old Jake Harding. However, Jordan believes that the Portuguese captain should not face police action after the incident. Jordan told talkSPORT: “I think we have to be careful with the word attack. What you have seen is that a player behaves ironically; we have to be careful how we categorize things. “It was inappropriate for Ronaldo, in whatever physical condition he is, what he is not used to. He is not used to playing in teams that lose in the way that Manchester United has not played his career in teams that lose that way, but he has time to get used to it. “You’re never used to being a loser if you’re the winner all your life, right? So his behavior is unacceptable. He should absolutely apologize. He should buy the child a new phone. These are things you have to want to do, because, in the end, you behaved badly for a moment. “But, to take it in an attack, and to take it to the speeds and take it to the idea that the players discredit the game, I think it prolongs it a bit. “This is a player who reacted badly, who probably did not even focus on what he was doing, he just simply pushed it away and in the end what happened is that a child’s phone was pushed to the floor. “There is no excuse for someone so iconic in people’s minds.”
