It shows the vivo X Fold (top), the new Galaxy Z Fold4 (middle) and the Galaxy Z Fold3 (bottom). Both the vertical and horizontal bezels are thinner than they were on the outgoing Z Fold. Frame comparison: vivo X Fold (top) • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 (middle) • Galaxy Z Fold3 (bottom) Another thing to note in this picture – the hinge profile is noticeably different and more compact. Rumor has it that the new hinge has been redesigned to make the crease smaller. Back to the new aspect ratio, here’s an indicative rendering. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 will be sturdier – giving apps a little more horizontal space on the cover screen and making the top of the screen a little easier to access. The Galaxy Z Fold4 will have a squatter ratio compared to its predecessor The internal display will move slightly closer to a square, from a 6.25:5 to 6:5 aspect ratio. Samsung has promised some official teasers in the three weeks leading up to the Unpacked event, and we expect to get some confirmation of the display and rumours. For a look inside, the first official renders of the Galaxy Z Fold4 (and the Z Flip4 as well) have already leaked. By the way, fans in the US can already pre-order a unit and will receive a $100 store credit – up to $200 if they also pre-order a Galaxy Watch5 and new Galaxy Buds (both will be unveiled at the same event Unpacked).
