Qualcomm says the “Plus” version of the 8 Gen 1 offers faster performance and better battery life than the non-plus chipset. It’s an unstoppable processor that’s largely meant for gaming-oriented mobile devices. It implies that the 10T will be more performance-oriented than the mainstream 10 Pro, which is a nice phone that comes a little closer compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22. So… three or four cameras? OnePlus is playing its usual long game and not revealing much right now. Even a little sleuthing — aka fiddling with the sliders in Photoshop — doesn’t reveal much in the shadows of the one-of-a-kind image of the device that OnePlus released. It appears to have a camera array similar to that of the OnePlus 10 Pro, offering standard wide, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses on the back. Both devices look like they have a fourth rear camera, but on the 10 Pro, at least, that’s just a flash. It seems unlikely that OnePlus would have overhauled the camera system for this release in the second half of the year, but this is definitely one category where the 10 Pro falls short and the 10T could improve. While OnePlus is under wraps, the rumors have been a bit more revealing about what the company might have up its sleeve, suggesting we might see 150W super-fast charging and — brace yourself — the departure of the physical notification slider. Say it ain’t so, Pete. In any case, all will be revealed soon — the launch event starts at 10am. ET on August 3.
