The 55-inch A95K model will cost € 3,050, according to FlatPanelsHD. This translates to about 25 2550 / $ 3300 / AU $ 4500. The 65-inch version will cost € 4,050 or about $ 3400 / $ 4400 / $ 5900 AU. [UPDATE: a just-spotted leak suggests the A95K’s UK price will be £2699] We here were very impressed with the A95K after continuing with the advanced panel last month, but thought it was “probably expensive”. Rumors of production problems at Samsung Display, Sony’s QD-OLED panel vendor, only fueled speculation that the A95K could cost an arm and a leg. But while today’s figures are a touch higher than some leaks have previously suggested, they do not look outrageous – QD-OLED could eventually be a game-changing TV technology. Crucially, though, Samsung’s upcoming S95B QD-OLED TV, which uses the same panel as Sony’s A95K, costs significantly less – just $ 2,200 for the 55-inch model and $ 3,000 for the 65-inch version. This is about 1700 £ / 3000 AU $ and 3300 £ / 4000 AU $, respectively. Of course, the performance of a TV is dictated much more than its panel technology alone, but it will be fascinating to see how these two QD-OLED TVs compare and whether Sony really managed to add so much extra value to its model. In addition, Sony also announced the pricing of the A80K 4K OLED TV (replacement of the award-winning What Hi-Fi; A80J). It starts at € 2300 (approximately 00 1900 £ / $ 2500 / $ 3400 AU) for the 55 inch and ends at € 4500 (approximately 00 3800 £ / 4900 $ / $ 6600 AU) for the 77 inch. The company also revealed the cost of the “great value” of the X90K 4K LCD TV (replacement of the five-star X90J). Prices range from € 1600 (approximately 13 1350 £ / 1750 $ / 2300 $ AU) for 55 inches, to € 4000 (approximately 3400 £ / 4400 $ / 5800 $ AU $) for 85 inches. There is also the Sony X95K, the company’s first 4K Mini LED TV. This model starts at € 3500 (approximately 00 2900 / $ 3800 / $ 5100 AU) for the smallest size of 65 inches. Sony is expected to announce prices for the UK and other European countries at any time. We will let you know as soon as we know more.
