said the pastor of the family Channel 2’s Elizabeth Rawlins that family life led to faith. Pastor Ben Sprenger with the Emmanuel Baptist Church said he prays to find the right words and enough strength to perform the funeral for the three. MOVIE STORIES: Investigators say Tommy Richard Hawk, Evelyn’s wife and grandson Luke were shot and killed Friday afternoon at their family business in Grantville – the Lock Stock & Barrel gun. “It’s up and down. “A lot of different emotions,” Sprenger said of the last 48 hours for the small, close-knit community. The Hawks were part of the small church community of about 50 members. Losing three people in this way is unthinkable. “There is a hole in our lives right now,” Sprenger said. Evelyn, Richard and Luke Hawk Evelyn, Richard and Luke Hawk were all found shot to death in the Lock, Stock and Barrel gun area on Friday. This gap became a reality for the church on Sunday – the first Sunday there were three vacancies. It was only last week that Luke Hawk was called to lead the church in prayer. “He turned 18 last December and I told him I would call him to pray soon. “And he told his parents he didn’t want to do it, but he felt so good,” Sprenger said. The Hawks were not only active in their church, but they also actively practiced and shared their strong faith with their clients, even posting signs on their business website with a permanent invitation to the church. “They loved God. They feared God. They loved their community. They were passionate about people. They knew the gospel, Jesus Christ and repentance for their sins. “And I believed it,” said Spranger. While so many questions remain unanswered, the church is comforted to know the answer to the most important question. “It’s not made. This is not a game. This is real hope, and we will see them again. “We believe that,” said Spranger. The Hawks’ funeral is scheduled for Thursday. RELATED NEWS: © 2022 Cox Media Group
