Police were called to the Dundas Street East and George Street area shortly before 7 p.m. for shootings.
According to investigators, a suspect approached the victim, who has been identified as Elijah Eleazar Mahepath, and shot him several times.
Mahepath was rushed to hospital by ambulance, but later died of his injuries.
The suspect was last seen walking west on Dundas East Street.
He has been described by police as a black man between the ages of 35 and 40, with short hair and was seen wearing a light-colored, long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and a light blue surgical mask.
Police are asking anyone with information about the investigation to contact the homicide department.
