Little Veronica was “very excited” when, among toys, diapers and cosmetics, she found a doll “similar to the one she had to leave behind” in Ukraine. Stripey Stork founder Nicola Dawes wrote on Twitter: “It was particularly special to discover that this doll was exactly the same one that Veronika could not bring home. “A moment of joy and connection, and he made our day when Veronica gave us a kiss as she left.” The charity says it knows of 700 families who have supported Ukrainians.
