The founder of the Kharkiv Wildlife Ecological Park has revealed that there is no way to save large animals at the attraction, which is believed to be the oldest zoo in Ukraine.
The animal center’s website claims to hold more than 6,000 animals. However, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman, who founded the zoo, says the Russian bombing left them with no choice but to put the animals to sleep because they could not be evacuated or transported.
Feldman posted a video on social media about the future of animals and the zoo as he shared the devastating news about the center and the grim reality about the future of wildlife, according to the Mirror Online.

Today we have to make a decision. “We have until nightfall to decide whether to kill everyone, put them to sleep or move them,” he said. The zoo owner said there was nowhere the creatures could get and he hoped to save some of them, possibly younger newer cats. But he added that all adult animals were “likely to be shot down” as they could not be rescued or returned home. The site of the attraction states that the Kharkiv Zoo is the oldest in Ukraine.
