Bucket collection days are set to change in West Norfolk as part of an effort to make routes more efficient. Serco, the household waste and recycling managers in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, are reviewing their collection program. This is part of an effort to reduce the distances traveled by trucks and to accommodate new homes. The changes will start on Monday, May 9 and three quarters of the households in the area will have a change in the day or week of collecting the bins. Those whose collections stay the same day or the same week may have a different time, so the bins should still be out until 7 a.m. on the day of collection. Garbage collection will remain weekly, on the same day as garbage collection or recycling. Members of the public are encouraged by the West Norfolk Council to seek information on changes to their waste collection. This will land on the door mats over the next three weeks. Information on new collections will also be available on the West Norfolk Council website from the end of April.
