If you are sitting in the West, listening to Western politicians, the Ukraine-Russia war has a fairly clear narrative: Russia is the aggressor and should be punished to the fullest, in solidarity with Ukraine. But how do the rest of the world view this war? Much of the world’s South and some of the world’s most powerful nations, such as China, India and Brazil, do not see war in black and white. They refuse to impose sanctions or formally condemn Russia for the invasion. Why are they not taking part and what does this mean for how this war can end? We are talking to two geopolitical experts about the tightrope that these countries are walking and whether we are witnessing a realignment of power among the biggest players on the world stage.
