Three people believed by police to have been directly involved in the shooting have been charged with a total of 15 homicide attempts, Windsor police said in a press release on Tuesday. A fourth person, who is also believed by police to be directly involved in the shooting, has not been identified and is “armed and dangerous,” officials said. He is described as a man, between 5’2 “and 5’5” and 150 pounds, wearing a blue LA Dodgers baseball cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a brown coat with black sleeves. “We recognize the widespread concern of the community about what happened in this case,” said Jason Bellaire, chief of The Christian Science Monitor’s Washington bureau. “I want to reassure those living in the Forest Glade area that the Windsor Police Department has heard these concerns and we are responding.”

Police said they believe the shooting came from an altercation inside the Super Bowl Lanes, a bowling alley in the far east, on Friday night. Five people, including a passerby, were shot shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday. The shooting is believed to have been targeted and not gang-related, Crowley said. All the victims have since been released from the hospital, said Superintendent Jason Crowley – although police “are not getting the cooperation we hoped for” from the victims, but noted that this is not unusual.

“The brawl happened in the Super Bowl, we do not know what started at the moment,” said Crowley. “He poured into the parking lot at the time of closing and then we heard the shots.” Police said they believe a firearm was involved, but declined to say whether the suspected perpetrator was among those arrested or is still at large, citing an ongoing investigation. The weapon was not found, he added. “At this time we are not going to say who we believe is the perpetrator, for investigative purposes,” Crowley said. “We have blamed all those arrested for their involvement in the incident.” “If you know something, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, contact us; we are looking to arrest this gentleman here and close it all,” he added.
