The first responders from the Plaster Rock Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick and Perth-Andover RCMP were called to the scene at around 1:30 pm on Saturday after receiving reports of a snowmobile crash in Wapske, just east of Perth-Andover . The New Brunswick RCMP said in a press release. The accident is believed to have occurred when the woman lost control of the snowmobile on a piece of ice and overturned. No passengers in the snowmobile or other vehicles were in the collision. The woman was taken to hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries, the RCMP said. They have not made her identity public. The RCMP said the investigation is ongoing and is being assisted by the RCMP team of forensic conflict analysts.
