The West Midlands Ambulance Service has now confirmed that the woman inside the property damaged by the fire has died. An ambulance spokesman said: “Crews arrived on the scene to find the fire in a low-rise apartment on Tollgate Court with firefighters working to evacuate residents. “Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save a woman inside the property and her death was confirmed on the spot. The crews evaluated several patients who had been evacuated from the building and all were discharged to the spot “. Two ambulances, two police officers and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) rushed to the scene, along with firefighters and police.
