On the way home, he insisted on making a detour where he picked up two shopping bags and later threatened the man with a knife. As the fight continued, George and her victim left the truck and got into a fight on the road, where he threw the knife into a bush. He called 999 after George bit his finger to the bone. Police arrived at the scene and arrested George, and after searching her bags, they found items such as bleach, duct tape, lighters, gloves and a Stanley knife – all linked to plans to kidnap, kill and cover up her crimes. Photo: Sussex Police Detective Superintendent John Hull said: “This was a cold, deliberate plan to kidnap, torture and kill an innocent man, with clear steps to cover up the crime. “I have no doubt that George would have followed her extremely alarming ‘to-do list’ if it were not for the victim and the immediate response of our police to detain her. “I would like to thank the victim for his support in this investigation, the member of the public who called 999 and all those involved – especially Detective Paul Thomas who led the investigation – who helped get a dangerous person off the streets. . “ George has been jailed for 13 and a half years after pleading guilty to attempted murder and possession of an assault rifle in public.
