Brand head Lu Weibing, also known as William Lu, revealed on Weibo that a new Redmi K50 flagship is in the works and will come “soon” with the Qualcomm platform. Lu reposted an image previously shared by Xiaomi, confirming 33% better power efficiency of the Plus’s CPU and 30% of its GPU. We expected the phone to be called the Redmi K50 Ultra, but since the series is still domestically bound, we’ve heard next to nothing about a sequel. Some reports suggest that the name will be Redmi K50S, similar to the Xiaomi 12S series. However, the S has previously indicated a dedicated member of the Redmi lineup rather than an update.
